Meet the crew


Gannett Cassidy (Director) has worked in video and television since 2004, but is excited to make her directorial debut on her first short film on Super 16. Hailing from Maryland, she came to Temple for the film program, spent a semester studying in Ghana, and hopes to continue traveling, filming and educating the world after graduation. The main character in Honest Abe, twelve-year-old Sam, has a lot in common with Gannett, including an active imagination and ernest enthusiasm.

Gregory J. Starr (Producer) began his career in the arts in front of the camera, but quickly made the transition to behind the camera. Prior to film production, Greg producedRomeo & JulietOliver!, and Beauty and the Beast for the stage. He most recently produced the short entitled A Dog From Helland is currently shooting an experimental documentary.

Rebecca Faith Rinker (Co-Producer) has been the president of Messiah Film Society for the past two years. She has worked as a production assistant on various undergraduate student films and has done makeup for Paper Turtle, a film by Temple graduate student Jonathan Stutzman, and Honest Abe. Rebecca hopes to make a career as a film producer and plans to use this project as the first stepping stone to her dream.

Andy Smith (Director of Photography) has an extensive background in film photography and has worked as the Director of Photography on several student films, including one Senior Project and two other 20 minute shorts.

Ben Updegrove (Associate Producer) began studying film two years ago. He has made and worked on several short films including Divided which won Best First Film at the Diamond Screen Festival last year.
